Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Numbers don’t lie! You and your staff are either producing, or you’re not. Stats help take the emotion out of managing employees. Have you ever had a staff person you loved, because the were very supportive of your mission and fun to be around, but they could just not produce? Staff is the largest percentage of your overhead. If you are staff heavy because you aren’t tracking their production by numbers, you will continually see your profit decline. Each employee should have at least 2 KPI’s, a trailing stat to see what work they have done, and a leading stat to show what is going to happen in the future.
